Nina currently concentrates her practice areas to all aspects of family law, including divorce, child support issues, parenting time, child custody, adoption, pre and post-nuptial agreements, and guardianship issues. Nina frequently serves as a Guardian ad Litem when needed and appointed by the Court, and she also has experience with mediation, general civil litigation, real estate, personal injury, and worker’s compensation law. Nina has been admitted to the U.S. District Court for the N.D. of Illinois, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the N.D. of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and has successfully argued in front of the Appellate Courts in the past.

Prior to attending law school and helping establish the family firm, Nina worked as a paralegal in the public and private sector while earning a master’s in Human Resources Management. Upon graduating from Northern Illinois University’s College of Law, Nina practiced at a small firm in Chicago. Nina’s experience prior to The Cosentino Law Firm, LLC helped guide her through the legal world as a new lawyer and eventually led her to her current interest in family law.

While managing her full-time legal career, Nina also finds time to teach at Dominican University. Nina is an adjunct professor in Dominican’s ABA approve pre-law program and she has been teaching for more than 7 years. Nina typically teaches law based courses such as Contracts, First Amendment, Family Law, Real Estate, and Legal Ethics. Nina is also a mentor to NIU law students and recent law graduates through the Illinois State Bar Association.

In recent years, Nina was awarded the Outstanding Public Service Award from Northern Illinois University’s College of Law. This award is bestowed to graduates or individuals who have shown an outstanding service to the College of Law. Those nominated for the Outstanding Public Service Award must demonstrate service to their community or profession, possess outstanding professional accomplishments, and uphold professional integrity.

In her spare time, Nina is also dedicated to giving back to her community, which is evident based on her involvement with numerous animal rescue groups, police benevolent associations, and as a parishioner at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Nina's compassion and dedication can be seen in her work in the legal field as well as throughout her personal endeavors.
